The 5 Zara Items I Bought Years Ago and Still Wear Today

While Zara is usually the go-to for getting your hands on the trendiest of items, I often visit the retailer for different reasons—to stock up on my selection of basics. It has never steered me wrong, as I still own pieces I bought years ago and wear on rotation today. I first started off my career in fashion as a college student but was able to polish myself up for interviews and industry events using the capsule pieces I was able to afford from Zara. If you're also looking to give your basics a little bit of an upgrade but are on a budget, then you have come to the right place. You will find basics that are a little more stylish, and you can wear these for years. Take it from me—I've been doing it.

From blazers to fitted trousers, some of these pieces have quite literally become staples in my daily wardrobe. After all, I am an outfit repeater just like Lizzie McGuire was, and that's never a bad thing in my book. Keep scrolling to check out the closet staples that are worth purchasing from Zara and to see how I styled mine.

Blazers

When I first started interviewing for internships in college, I bought a few blazers from Zara, and I still wear them on rotation today. They have the perfect relaxed and fashionable fit without making you look too stiff.

Boots

If there's one item in my closet that I've worn too many times to count, it's this pair of boots from Zara. I also own lug-soled and combat pairs, and those have never let me down either. They're comfortable, hold up, and look amazing.

Jeans

I may have to do a little DIY hem job for them since I am 5'2", but other than that, the fit on my jeans from Zara is always great. Not to mention, they're incredibly soft, which has been great for me as I'm easing back into wearing my denim.

Trousers

Zara's trousers, whether they're leather or your standard tapered pair, are perfect for when you're looking for a way to polish up your wardrobe on a budget. I wear these leather trousers on a weekly basis in the warmer weather, and I have a cream non-leather pair that tends to always come out in the spring.

Heels

True story—I stole these gold Zara heels from my sister years ago and haven't given them back. I don't wear heels often (I'm a sneakers and boots kind of girl), but I like to pull a pair out for special occasions, and Zara's are my favorites for their comfort and versatility.
