The 9 Zara Buys That Earn Me Endless Compliments

Just one scroll of my Instagram feed and you’ll see I buy Zara a lot. In fact, every couple of months I like to scoop up a few key items that quench my sartorial thirst for the latest trends, as well as update a few of my staple pieces. There are certain items I’ve bought recently from the spring collection that have been quick to incite numerous compliments and plenty of solicitations—I happened to have bought those cult white strappy sandals the day they came out on the Zara website, and I’ve been receiving countless compliments ever since. (They’re blowing up on Instagram right now by the way, and are still available to buy!)

Below I’m sharing some of those compliment-provoking pieces with you. Some items are surprisingly pretty basic, but I continue to get inquiring questions about them, which is proof that simple can also be striking. If you’re looking to pick up some new pieces from Zara this month, scroll below for a few of my favorites that incite major praise.

Skirt Set

Dressing for the unpredictable in-between-season weather can get tricky. Lately, I've taken to wearing Zara's flattering knit skirt set, which I style with knee-high boots when it's cold and sporty sandals when it's more temperate. It's perfect for nailing the all-beige-everything trend, and I love the statement button detail on the top.

Khaki Pants

Khakis are the new jeans! Well, at least for this season. If you're suffering from jean fatigue, these streamlined and stylish khakis in the most flattering pepper stem green hue are the perfect pants to wear for work or the weekend. I wore them to the office this month with those popular strappy sandals (of course!) and a clean white Zara sweater—which has been another great buy for the in-between season weather. (The sweater has sold out but you can find the same one in a mustard hue.)

Strappy Sandals

The day these were released on Zara's website I snapped them up. They're super on trend, comfortable, and literally go with every single item in my closet. Colleagues, friends, and family have been quick to compliment me on them and everyone wants to know where they're from. Now you know.

Silk Midi Skirt

I love me a silky satin midi skirt that looks way more expensive than it actually is. This silver one is super elegant and looks chic with sandals, boots, and sneakers alike. A steal for $50.

Polo Top

I've been loving the popular polo tops that are trending this season—this one incites particular praise for it's fun, shimmery, millennial mint hue.

Ribbed Skirt With Buttons

The button detail on this skirt gives it a Chanel-esque sophisticated feel. It's the perfect piece to take you from desk to drinks in style. I've received countless compliments in it since I recently bought it. I'm styling it with another Zara score—black strappy sandals (because I'm obsessed with all things strappy right now) and a chic black top (featured below).

Backless Top

I desperately needed to update my basic black shell top and found this simple yet sophisticated fitted ribbed top with the most gorgeous backless detail. It's such great quality for the price and flatters in all the right places. It transitions from day-to-night easily and looks great with high-waisted jeans.

Lace Dress

I'll admit, I have only worn this out once since I bought it (a white lace slip dress is not exactly versatile per se), but when I did wear it for a dinner, a handful of people in my party commented on how ridiculously pretty it looked. It may resemble a nightie, but pair it with a leather jacket and boots and you've got a cool French-girl look. Or if you prefer, you can just wear it to bed. Either way, it'll make you feel lovely.
