The Fall 2018 Trends I'm Already Buying at Zara

Meet Lauren, Who What Wear's fashion editor and co-founder of The Devils Wear Zara. Lauren is so obsessed with Zara that we started calling her the Zara Scout. Now, she's turning the nickname into a franchise so she can regularly share her insider knowledge of the brand with you, including all her hacks, secrets, and must-haves.

I'm a major planner, meaning yes, it's only the middle of summer, but I already have my eyes feasted on what the fashion world has in store for me come fall. After much analysis and a slight obsession with the F/W 18 runways, I've finally narrowed down my favorites. And by favorites, I mean the ones I can easily shop at Zara right now. Clearly, patience isn't my strong suit.

If you're anything like me when it comes to seasonal trends, you too are on the hunt for the next best thing, and I'm here to bring it to you. Since Zara is the queen of fast-fashion production, it has, of course, already churned out some of the season's most coveted fall 2018 trends. While there was definitely a lot to choose from, I think the below seven styles are not only the most accessible but also the ones I think Zara is slaying. Happy shopping.

Animal Print

Animal print was everywhere on the F/W 18 runways, and Zara, unsurprisingly, hopped right on that bandwagon. This fall. I encourage you to treat animal prints of all kinds (snakeskin, leopard, zebra) as you would stripes, meaning you consider them more as neutral than a statement print.

Shop the trend:

Dad Sneakers 2.0

Dad sneakers aren't necessarily a new trend, but this fall, we are seeing a fresher take on the tried-and-true style as the silhouette is looking a little less throwback and a little more futuristic… at least at Zara.

Shop the trend:

'70s

Spring was all about the return of the '80s, and for fall, we're going back one more decade and celebrating the '70s. We're talking old-school heritage prints, floor-sweeping floral sets, and crochet confections.

Shop the trend:

Metallics

As I mentioned in this trend report, this season, we're swapping plastic for metallics. Whether it be a shiny shoe moment or a lame button-down, Zara is ensuring you have enough metallics to choose from as you start swapping trends.

Shop the trend:

Classics

This fall, we're also going back to the basics, and yes, that's something to be excited about. Imagine your wardrobe stripped down of all "trends" per se—what would be left? Simple knit, classic trousers, and crisp tailoring. Thanks to Zara, shopping those tried-and-true pieces is a piece of cake.

Shop the trend:

Statement Earrings

Personally, I think statement earrings will always be "in." I can't think of a single outfit that wouldn't benefit from an earring moment, so thank goodness the jewelry trend is continuing on in this coming season. Spice up your sweaters with rhinestones, plated metals, and the like.

Shop the trend:

Glam

All fall, we're expecting all glam. Dress to the nines via sequins, silks, and anything glitzy. Instead of spending a grand on that perfect LBD and the shoes to go with it, just stop by your local Zara and get the look for way less.
