While technically the traditional wedding season is in spring in Australia, autumn is fast becoming an increasingly popular time to tie the knot. Many couples like to honeymoon overseas, and who wouldn't want to jet to the other side of the world for a second dose of summer?

We've got spring wedding dressing pretty sorted, but autumn is a little trickier. The easy fall back of wearing a bright floral dress is all too easy. So what do you wear to an autumn wedding? Let's start with what not to wear first. Steer clear of anything that intuitively feels 'summery', and instead consider luxe fabrics like fur, velvet, satin, and pieces like skirt suits and structured dresses.
