Sienna Miller

While the summer movie season means a slew of stunt-filled blockbusters, for fashion enthusiasts (present company included!), the action isn't in the theatres-it's on the red carpet! Admittedly, these popcorn movies may not be our cup of tea, but we're wholly riveted by their promotional press tours because they make our favourite leading ladies take center stage in outfit after amazing outfit. Over the past few weeks, we have been particularly entranced with the glamorous transformation of Sienna Miller, who is travelling the globe in support of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra wearing some seriously stellar gear. While her playful personality and love of fashion remain intact, the It-Brit has evolved beyond her bohemian roots and is now reaching for sophisticated frocks and chic separates. The resulting ensembles are a refreshing take on Hollywood glamour and utterly flawless. Though we are undoubtedly waiting on the edge of our proverbial seat to see what this free-spirit will have on next, we thought we would take the time to praise Miller's impeccable taste in today's Style Spotlight feature.

Though it was difficult to edit down our picks to just five looks, we feel confident that our selections reflect the best of Miller's recent assemblages. Topping our list is the outstanding outfit Miller wore to film a TV segment for BET, consisting of a fantastic green frock from Peter Pilotto's F/W 09 collection. This London-based designer, who trained at the legendary Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, is fast becoming an editor favourite and is certainly one to watch. Though her exact garment isn't being produced for retail, we suggest that you look into some of Pilotto's other out-of-this-world pieces. For example, the Side Dress ($1385) will help you achieve this fall's long sleeve mini dress trend, or you can reach for the Air Dress ($1385), which features a print that is inspired by lava and the Big Bang. Both mimic the eye-catching pattern, tight fit, and intricate draping of Miller's choice. For those of you who want something a bit more budget-friendly, try Rachel Pally's Artemis Dress ($220) for an evergreen and pleated option. Though Miller rounded out her look with Isabel Marant's Studded Boots ($1325, 323.655.2141), make sure to rock your frock with a substantial heel or spiked booties for the perfect accompaniment. We like Jeffrey Campbell's Us Ankle Bootieicon ($159), which bares such an uncanny resemblance to the original, we had to do a double take!

While making another television appearance, this time at MTV's It's On With Alexa Chung, Miller wore a smart pair of Leopard Print Hareem Trousers ($70) and a Lace Crop Top ($55), both from Topshop, to beat the summer heat in style. While we love her particular pants, we are also quite fond of Express' Crop Leggings ($30), as they are equally chic and share a similar animal pattern. No slouch when it comes to accessories, Miller opted for the simple sterling silver Helios Bracelet ($460, 323.822.3600) from Dama and finished off the look with Alexander Wang's Racquel Wrapped Pumps. They're the perfect statement shoe: the clear PVC material at the ankle adds a modern edge to the sculpted toe and hardware decorated heel (you can actually see the screw that is holding the stiletto in place!) Though the Racquel style isn't being produced for fall, we recommend that you try Wang's Anya Wrapped Bootie ($1005), which has a similarly dramatic pointy toe and moulded heel.

We also wanted to spotlight another trouser-focused ensemble as seen on Miller while she was promoting G.I. Joe on Fuse Networks in New York: specifically a soft peach pair of cuffed pants worn with a draped, slouchy tank. Her ensemble proves that when you find a silhouette that works for your body, it is wise to stick to it! While the light hue of her pantalones may not be seasonally appropriate for much longer, the shape of her tapered bottoms will most definitely be prevalent during fall. We recommend that you keep the look fresh à la Miller by mixing a pair of light-hued carrot pants such as J.Crew's Club Pantsicon ($98) with Kain Label's Pocket Tank Top ($90), and sexy cut-out shoes, like Jeffery Campbell's Patent Heel ($148) and you'll be ready for your close up in no time at all!

Of course, as dedicated fashion journalists, we couldn't entirely ignore Miller's off-duty looks, especially when her personal wardrobe is as sensational as her professional garb. Proving that she is a quick-change artist in more ways than one, Miller was spotted wearing an airy floral frock en route to rehearsal for her upcoming Broadway show After Miss Julia. While her Topshop Tall Floral Print Dress ($73) is lovely, try Forever 21's Sassy Floral Woven Dress ($23) for a variation on her hothouse pick. Although she paired her girly dress with strappy flats from Topshop (sadly, sold out), we quite like J. Aldridge by Sea of Shoes Lace-Up Skimmer ($58). These laced shoes would be the ideal pair to run around backstage in or in between practice sessions on the Great White Way! Just remember to slip on a clear and round pair of on-trend sunnies like Topshop's Small Round Sunglasses ($30) to block your peepers from bright lights and prying eyes!

The final look in our Style Spotlight is perhaps the most casual of the bunch, but it's perfectly cute. Despite her hectic work schedule, Miller was able to find some time to stroll the streets of New York, with her stylish sister and co-designer of their Twenty8Twelve line, Savannah Miller. The two were spotted window shopping in Soho and Miller looked laid-back yet cutting-edge in her studded short sleeve shirt-try Alexander Wang's Sweatshirt with Grommets ($320) and rolled boyfriend jeans. If you like her punky top, be sure to check out Re Collection's Galaxy Studded Swing Top ($98) for a slightly cropped version of this look, and a pair of well-worn denim bottoms, like Old Navy's Weekend Jeans ($35). And while Miller stowed her belongings in Yves Saint Laurent Besace Messenger Bag ($1365, 310.271.4110), try Pink Studio's Lupe Bag ($80) for a gratifying grey satchel substitute. -KM
