Miranda Kerr

Sartorially speaking, we're having a little bit of a love affair with Australia. One of our favourite cutting-edge lines, Camilla and Marc, hails from the land down under, as does our recent Style Stalker, Jessica Stein of Tuula Vintage. Not surprisingly, today's Style Spotlight focuses on yet another fashionable Aussie--model Miranda Kerr! Though Kerr is famed for her accomplishments (she's the first Australian Victoria's Secret Angel and possesses one of the most recognised faces in modelling) and her personal life (she's married to actor Orlando Bloom and gave birth to their first child last year), here at WWW, we know her for her impeccable style repertoire. We thought you might feel the same, so read on for all the details behind some of Kerr's chicest model-off-duty looks!

On The Street
When she's not dressed up for a formal fete or, on the flipside, barely dressed for a lingerie shoot, Kerr sports laid-back ensembles. In fact, she often relies on a no-fail outfit formula that consists of sunglasses, a jacket, a breezy shirt, and skinny pants. For example, while leaving her apartment building in New York last month, Kerr donned a get-up-and-go ensemble that still managed to appear coolly chic (top row, left). She wore Dries Van Noten's Short Jacket ($1550) over Rag & Bone's Oversized V Neck Tee ($115, 212.741.5075) in Ecru, then injected a burst of colour with Current/Elliott's The Leopard Stiletto Jeans ($198, available here in Grey and Camel Leopard). Since she's never without a good pair of sunnies and a roomy bag, Kerr accessorized with Christian Dior sunglasses and a burgundy Celine Cabas Shopping Tote ($1350).

Just a couple days later, the stylesetter stuck to a similar look during a visit to a medical building in New York (far right). The stunner's simple getup--a white button-down and Stella McCartney's black pants with sheer panels--gets a boost of downtown flair with Isabel Marant's studded denim jacket from the F/W 10 collection. Kerr's low-key accents, like a brown fedora, Dita aviator sunglasses, Isabel Marant Dicker Boots ($580, available here in Amber), and a black Celine bag pull her entire outfit together, but effortlessly so!

A week later while walking her dog, the model took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather in New York and tossed on Ksubi's Mini Moto Skirt ($186) in B-Side Blues (bottom row, center). Though denim mini skirts are a throwback to the '90s, when they were typically paired with clingy, belly-baring tops, Kerr had us hunting down our own faded versions after demonstrating a decidedly more sophisticated way of wearing it! Teamed with an Isabel Marant Navajo-print blouse, a sharp Celine blazer, and a Miu Miu shoulder bag, Kerr's faded skirt appears totally fresh and on-trend. Of course, she's never without her trusty Isabel Marant Dicker Boots ($580), a comfortable pair of shoes for someone who's fashionably low-maintenance!

On The Red Carpet
However, Kerr's job does require her to glam up for dressier events, and when the occasion calls for it, the model suits up--literally! At the Joseph Nahmad Contemporary in New York last November, Kerr opted for a polished all-black ensemble in a Celine blazer, 3.1 Phillip Lim blouse, Stella McCartney cropped trousers, Manolo Blahnik pumps, and Louis Vuitton Monogram Blocks Pochette Bag ($3250) in Marine from the Pre-Fall 11 collection, which is sadly no longer available (bottom row, left). Though monochromatic attire is a straightforward choice, Kerr sticks to well-tailored separates (and a killer beauty look with bold red lips) that infuse her look with fashion-forward panache.

When Kerr aims for a little more femininity, she tends to pick sleek dresses that enhance her figure (top row, center). Take the Josh Goot Pod Print Sleeveless Dress ($1283) in Green/Brown that she wore during a visit to the Sydney Opera House in late January. The belted sheath dress is perfectly elegant, and its lively pattern only enhances its form-fitting silhouette.

Get Her Look
Though some may yearn for Kerr's model figure and looks, we think her personal style is truly covetable (and a tad more attainable for us mere mortals!), so we tracked down budget-friendly picks that emulate her easygoing fashion sense. To mimic one of Kerr's casual ensembles, try Funktional's Carrera Crop Jacket ($113) with River Island's Blue Jeggings ($54), or opt for Kerr's denim jacket look with J.Crew's Jean Jacket ($100) in Vintage Sea Blue Wash or Lucky Brand Jeans' Jacket ($103). The key is to pair the jacket with cool basics, like Kerr's button-down and black pants. We think Zara's Silk Blouse With Pocket ($80), Splendid's Semi-Sheer Hi-Low Button-Down Top ($98), Forever 21's Essential Capri Leggings ($5) in Black, and DSTM's Sheer Legging ($168) are ideal alternatives. Accent the look with Helene Berman's Wool-Felt Fedora ($60) and a pair of chic ankle boots, like Steve Madden's Pembrook Boots ($80) in Taupe Suede or Sam Edelman's Petty Ankle Boot ($160) in Putty. We know you must be itching to try Kerr's denim skirt outfit too, so we hunted down KILLAH's Denim Skirt ($49) and Calvin Klein Jeans' Denim Skirt ($75), both of which would look lovely for spring or summer with a printed top like Torn by Ronny Kobo's Ann Tank ($88) or A.L.C.'s Sonny Tank ($275).

When suiting up is required, make sure to select sharp, tailored pieces a la Kerr. ASOS' Tailored Blazer With Power Shoulders ($107), Topshop's Black Boyfriend Blazer ($130), Banana Republic's Martin Fit Cuffed Crop Pants ($80), and Vince's 3/4-Length Short Pants ($98) are as suitable for your 9-to-5 as they are for after-hours events. If you're willing to shell out a little more dough for a Kerr-inspired formal look, though, check out Rachel Roy's Crochet Bib Snake Print Sheath Dress ($428) or Lanvin's splurge-worthy Python Print Sheath ($2717). Both ladylike numbers feature an elegant silhouette and eye-catching print, and though wearing them won't earn you a spot on the Victoria's Secret catwalk, you'll certainly look like one stylish model citizen!--Tiffany Tse
