What do you get when you put Blair Waldorf, royals like Kate Middleton and Princess Diana, and fashion girls together? Not a whole lot, actually. Since one of them is a fictional TV character and the others have very strict dress codes, there's not much crossover in their wardrobes, as you can imagine. Surprisingly, though, there's one fall trend you'd find in each of their closets. Just like we saw pantsuits everywhere last fall and into this spring, there's another suiting trend bubbling up right now, and it's one we're quite sure all three of the above parties would be all over.

I'm talking about skirt suits, but I know what you're probably thinking—that the matching blazer-and–pencil skirt sets (often rendered in tweed and plaid) feel a bit too stuffy for 2018. Let me explain. This fall, skirt suits are coming back in a big way. Designers like Tibi and Calvin Klein are reimagining them in sleek, forward designs, and I have a strong feeling they're going to be the outfit of choice for fashion girls to style with their basics like T-shirts and sneakers.

Intrigued? Go on to see how fashion girls, royals, and Blair Waldorf have all worn these matching sets, and then shop the styles that feel totally unstuffy.
