The list of items we buy at Target ranges from the necessary (low-cut socks) to the completely random but also arguably necessary (we're looking at you, M&M Cookies & Screeem). And if you're one of us, you definitely can't leave the store without a peek at the latest from JoyLab. Disclaimer: we co-designed the collection with Target, so we'll admit our excitement for the fresh fall prints and sweat-wicking leggings that just launched might be a bit biased.

Just in case, we asked the active and supremely stylish Rocky Barnes to weigh in on the new collection. She put together her favorite looks before testing them out during her weekly exercise routine, which includes lots of yoga and cardio workouts. Want to see how JoyLab stood up to the test? Below, you'll find Barnes's favorite workouts, four super-chic activewear outfit ideas, and maybe even a nudge to sign up for that extra yoga class this week (just saying).

Barnes has no fear when it comes to translating her eclectic fashion sense into her workout apparel—just look at this camo-floral yoga outfit. A matching monochromatic look? She's into it. Head-to-toe prints? Really into it. "I love wearing all the colors!" Barnes tells us, but she suggests neutral patterns when first trying to break out of that all-black-everything mindset.

When it comes to cardio, Barnes loves taking a sweaty cycling class after an early morning coffee date with her husband. However, living in sunny Los Angeles, she tries to take her workouts outside as much as possible. "Running on the beach is perfect for those days when you want to get out of the gym," she tells us. Her outfit choice for a morning run in the fall? A sweatshirt, a sweat-resistant sports bra, and matching high-waist leggings (Barnes says they give her more freedom to move). Also notable is her suggestion to wear the same sweatshirt over a dress with non-exercise sneakers for a fun athleisure moment.

Barnes chooses a simple black bra top, a zip-up hoodie, and black-and-floral leggings for another heart-pumping workout (stair sprints). She tells us she can't wait to wear the top with jeans, too, but we've got our eyes all over the cool cozy jacket. Luckily, we don't have to pick favorites: Both pieces are under $50.

When she's not working out, Barnes is still often seen in her leggings, only with cool accessories added in, like this metallic belt bag. After all, activewear is her go-to for both airport travel and weekend errands. (Same.) "In this busy world, athleisure allows us to really get more done in a day," she says. "Who has time to carry around an extra outfit?" Definitely not us, so we'll be wearing this stretchy legging and cozy hoodie look on repeat.
