The Dresses Fashion Girls Will Be Wearing This Summer
It probably comes as no surprise that in my role as an editor, I spend a rather large chunk of my workdays researching emerging fashion trends, share-worthy shopping finds, and buzzy or on-the-rise brands. Every once in awhile, however, I’m lucky enough to have one or any combination of the above categories simply present itself to me instead. As you probably guessed, such is the case with the topic of today’s post: Rat & Boa dresses have recently taken over my Instagram feed at somewhat of an exponential rate.
While the brand, which launched in 2015, is not particularly new, as most labels do over the course of their lifecycles, it seems to be experiencing a period of particular popularity right now and just in time for summer dressing. Its dresses—the majority of which are under $300—range from floor-length slips to minis and come in a mix of solids, prints, and various materials. They're also particularly versatile, as evidenced by the way they can be dressed up or pared down with ease. Last but certainly not least, across the board, they're just cool, which explains their presence on the Instagram accounts of so many of our favorite fashion people. To see everything I'm talking about for yourself and shop the must-have dresses of summer along the way, just keep scrolling.
Yes, it's a little sheer, but the risk is worth the reawrd.
This little mini is just perfect for summer.
You can easily dress this up or down by swapping out different accessories.
This sheer, polka-dot style has been particularly prevalent on my feed.
A non-black evening dress that's still so classic.
Okay, I'm actually obsessed with this print.
Another style that you could easily dress down, too.
All this dress really needs is shoes—otherwise, it does all the work for you.

Since starting as an intern back in 2013, Nicole Akhtarzad Eshaghpour has held several roles here at Who What Wear, and she is currently Editor-at-Large. It was a less expected route, seeing as she was graduating from business school at USC when this all began, but it has turned out to be the best one for her. Fast-forward to 2020, and she's moved to NYC from her hometown of Beverly Hills and spends her workdays a little differently from when she was an intern starting out. Currently, she focuses on a weekly mélange of shopping content. As far as her personal style goes, she's largely drawn to classic pieces and neutral basics but will always make an exception for something colorful, printed, or bejeweled as long as it's deemed worthy enough. After all, the only thing she loves more than a good party is dressing up for one. On weekdays, she can usually be found at home eating something delicious for dinner and trying to force her husband to watch 90 Day Fiancé.
