I know what you're thinking: But Anna, it's not even August yet! How could you possibly be talking about boots already?! I realize I'm jumping the gun a bit on fall trends, and even as I type this, I'm wearing a tank top and have my A/C unit on full blast. But alas, we all know fall will return once again, whether you're in denial about it or are secretly counting down the days until you can dust off your boots and sweaters.
Speaking of fall trends, there's a lot to love about the shoe trends on offer for this season. From the romantic lace-up pairs from Brock Collection to the heavy-duty stompers Prada showed, the boots on the menu for fall really cater to every taste. But not every designer pair will go on to earn It status and promptly sell out, which is why we went ahead and curated a list of the most popular designer boots for fall.
See why each style will be trending hard in a matter of months, and if you're wise enough to make an investment now, shop the boots that speak to you the most (before everyone else does).

Lace-up ankle boots were a huge hit on the fall runways and leading the pack was a romantic pair in floral silk from Brock Collection. If it's any indication that we're seeing similar styles on offer from big names like Saint Laurent to indie labels like Manu Atelier, then these designer boots are poised to dominate.
It's hard to utter the phrase "designer It shoe" without mentioning Prada. For the past few seasons, the house has been churning out It shoe after It shoe, and this fall is no exception. The heavy-duty combat boots we saw on the runway are already poised for huge success this fall, and they're joined by similarly utilitarian styles from The Row and Jacquemus, which we predict the fashion crowd will wear with floaty dresses or tuck their trousers into.
The '70s called—they want you to reconsider platforms. The retro shoes are definitely having a moment this fall, especially the platform boots from designers such as Saint Laurent, Gianvito Rossi, and Marni.
The utility theme continues with this next designer boot trend: heavy treading. From Tibi to Loewe and Prada to Proenza Schouler, these are the stylish (and not to mention practical) boots we're about to see everywhere this fall and winter.
