Everything Who What Wear Editors Are Keeping, Ditching, and Buying This Season

Hard fact about us: We have limited closet space, which is often the case when you live in NYC or L.A., as most of our editors do. Since it is what it is, we have to find other ways to make room for new pieces each season, which means—you guessed it—we have to ditch (as in, donate or sell) outdated pieces or pieces that we're over. Accordingly, we're taking the term spring-cleaning quite literally and rapidly making room for our newly acquired pieces.

We're not sure if it's just us, but there seem to be even more highly enticing trends than usual to try this season. With trends in the mix like tie-dye, crochet, sporty sandals, and all the beautiful beige, spring 2019 is shaping up to be a very Instagram-worthy season. So in case you need a little closet-cleaning or shopping inspiration for the season, all of us Who What Wear fashion editors are divulging what we're keeping, ditching, and buying for spring. Scroll to shop all the things we're taking a trip to Goodwill to make room for.

"I'll be giving away my hard-to-wear dresses, whether they're too short, too sheer, or wrinkle quickly. In my mind, spring and summer is the time to keep things easy and effortless. However, I'll be keeping all of my favorite puff-sleeve dresses, and in particular, I'm excited about my newest buy: Reformation's Marabella Dress."

"I'll be giving away my tight, cropped, flare jeans. I've loved the silhouette for a long time, but I'm ready for something that feels fresher, like Ganni's wide-leg silhouette."

"I'll be keeping my tie-dye tops in rotation, as the trend is gaining even more steam this spring. I like ones that feel a bit elevated so the effect is chic lady rather than crunchy hippie.

"This spring, I'll be buying a knit tank with a front racerback detail à la Julie Pelipas. PS: They have more sizes in dark navy."

"I'm just putting a few pairs of heavy black skinny jeans in the donate pile, and I plan on swapping them out for a couple of pairs of loose, cream-colored jeans.

"Since the croc-embossed trend is still going strong, I'm hanging onto it and have even added a few new croc accessories to my wardrobe recently.

"Longer denim shorts are definitely going to be everywhere this spring and summer, and I have very few pairs, so I'm stocking up before they start selling out. This perfect Agolde version is first on my list."

"I'm giving away my bucket bags. While they're a great carryall, the slouchy shape lacks structure, and these days, I'm favoring more classic styles that can make any outfit appear a bit more polished. With that in mind, I'll be keeping all my mini top-handle bags since they're perfect for taking out to dinner. I just ordered an ultra-structured bag and have been carrying it nonstop since it arrived."

"This season, I'm keeping my leather pieces around and styling them in new ways for spring. I cannot wait to ditch all the winter coats and boots taking up space in my closet, and when I make room, I'll be buying a pair of sporty sandals."

"While the tiny-sunglass trend is still loved by many, I'm officially ready to retire them this season and replace them with oversize shield sunglasses, which were seen all over the spring runways, and I can’t get enough. Finally, I can conceal my under-eye bags in style!

"For spring, I'll be keeping my cream, knee-high boots. Tall, neutral boots were seen all over the street style set during fashion month, and as the temps start to rise, I’ll be sporting them with smart shorts, skirts, and dresses. The Row has an amazing pair, but I found a similarly chic option that is easier on the wallet.

"I'm loving the utility trend at the moment, and this season, I can't wait to get my legs into a pair of cool cargo pants. They are a refreshing alternative to jeans and look chic with heeled strappy sandals and flats alike."

"I'll be giving away my rundown kitten-heel ankle boots and swapping in floss heels instead. I'll be keeping all the tie-dye pieces I started stocking up on the second the trend hit the runway."
