This Runway Show Had Celebrities as Models and an M.C.

It's safe to say that the fashion world has never seen anything quite like the runway show-slash-“Pageant of the People" that Opening Ceremony presented last night in celebration of their  S/S 17 collection. The politically-themed show was M.C.'d by Portlandia stars Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein, and among the models were celebrities such as Rashida Jones and Aubrey Plaza. Whoopi Goldberg closed the show and each of the participating celebrities made speeches about topical issues. Designers Humberto Leon and Carol Lim are known to never opt for a conventional runway show and this was no exception.

The bold, playful collection was a knitwear lover's dream, and proved that current trends like ruffles, bold stripes, and sheer pieces are here to stay. (We're currently obsessing over the off-the-shoulder ruffled top.) Keep scrolling to see some of the stand-out looks from Opening Ceremony's S/S 17 runway show-slash-pagaent, and pre-order pieces from the collection here (we have our eye on the embroidered bomber jacket).
