The Prettiest Dresses We Spotted at Oaks Day

Amanda Bardas

It’s Oaks Day today (also known as Ladies’ Day) at Flemington, and you already know what we’re here for—the fashion highlights. As spring racing comes to a close, it’s hard to pick a day that’s been our overall favourite—we love them all for different reasons. Stakes Day was all about the headpiece, Derby Day reignited our love for a classic black dress, and Melbourne Cup showed us how to really stand out in bright colours. What can we learn from today? Every girl needs a pretty, feminine frock in her wardrobe—perfect to pull out for a summer wedding or date night.

Jennifer Hawkins (who’s our pick for best-dressed throughout the whole racing carnival) styled her pastel blue lace Talulah gown slightly off one shoulder, making a classic style dress feel elevated and very 2016. Rachael Finch dressed her baby bump in a mini lace dress by Self-Portrait, and Tessa James proved that Dion Lee is the master at creating structured dresses.
