Beige Is My Favorite Color—Here Are 5 Neutral Outfits to Help You Understand Why

I've recently been inspired by our team's amazing advertising sales associate Emily Gerstein, who almost exclusively wears shades of beige, white, and off-white. No really, she describes her style as "grandma beige," although I'd argue her everyday monochromatic looks are seriously stylish. My grandma is cool, but I don't think she could pull these outfits off quite as well.

The reason Emily's monochromatic looks are so successful is that she chooses pieces that are in the same color spectrum but ever so slightly different. From my point of view, this helps each piece have a visual moment rather than everything blending into one big blob of fabric. "It's a mix and match mentality. Everything in my wardrobe goes together, making getting dressed easy," she explains. See and shop her looks below, and prepare to become a monochrome convert.

This puffy-sleeve tiered dress makes a big statement when worn alone (see the sleeves below), but I love that Emily wears a tan blazer on top to give it a bit more shape. As much as I'm hoping H&M makes this dress in more colors, I'm definitely buying this beige one to start.

This look is a great example of what I said above about her outfits being comprised of pieces that seem like they're almost all the same color until you look closely and realize they're not. The various shades of off-white in the cozy button-down knit, faux-leather skirt, and combat boots are so effortlessly chic.

I never knew I needed white tights ($19 on Amazon!) until seeing them paired with this short-sleeve white dress from Danielle Bernstein's Macy's collection. This piece sold out in minutes so I'm truly impressed she snagged one. Luckily, it's now back in stock, so act fast!

This eggshell blazer is so polished, and I never would have thought to wear it with bright white denim. (Until now of course.) For a major plot twist, she finishes off this creamy-colored look with gold footwear. Gold is technically just a shiny beige, right?

Alert: This Zara top is still available, and it's only $40. It's such a statement piece thanks to those bold, lacy sleeves. I'd be tempted to wear it with blue or black jeans, but these simple white trousers and off-white combat boots feel just right here.
