Meghan Markle Is About to Revive This '90s Trend, Thanks to Princess Diana
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are currently in Sydney for the first leg of their Australian royal tour. In what might be the sweetest moment spotted so far, Meghan chose to wear a pair of diamond-encrusted butterfly earrings that once belonged to Princess Diana. As pointed out by POPSUGAR Australia, Princess Diana wore the earrings in Canada in 1986 with a royal blue skirt suit.
Butterflies were once a major trend in the '90s (anyone remember the hair clip craze we all wore in high school?), and we have a feeling the trend just received the kick-start it needed to swing back into our wardrobes. And what better time for the butterfly to make its return. The symbol suggests change and hope.
Read on to zoom in on the earrings worn by both Meghan Markle and Princess Diana, and then shop an almost-identical pair by Gucci.
