The Curveball High-Street Store I'm Buying All My Summer Shoes From

If there’s one thing I can’t stand, it’s uncomfortable shoes. I know that’s not very “fashion” of me to say so, but honestly, there’s nothing worse than hobbling around London trying to attach blister plasters to disgruntled, throbbing toes. No one has time for that, and in my opinion, no shoes are worth that sort of grief. That is why it has been my one-woman mission this year to try and find summer shoes that are both stylish and comfortable. (Because yes, they do exist.)

Marks and Spencer have certainly upped its style stakes in recent years, regularly delivering winning formulas (such as the blogging crowd’s favourite trench and this pink dress). However, when it comes to shoes, I was dubious, as my excursions into the land of “practical” footwear had so far yielded somewhat orthopaedic results. (Aka not very chic.) Needless to say, I was shocked when I entered M&S and found a plethora of fashion-forward yet foot-friendly styles. Heeled mules, chunky sandals, pointed kitten heels—you name it. With a little help from Instagram, I quickly realised that many other fashion insiders had uncovered the joys of M&S’s shoes—including fashion editor Emily Dawes and stylist Alexandra Fullerton. Finally, the secret is out!

I’m particularly enamoured by the store’s current offering of woven styles, which I’ll wear with both high-waisted jeans and floaty summer dresses. I also have my eye on the denim-effect kitten-heel mules, as worn by Alexandra Fullerton, which look seriously expensive despite their £25 price tag (yes, really). Scroll down to shop our pick of the best Marks and Spencer shoes. Your feet will thank you for it.
