Lucky's Print Edition Is Closing for Good

After what feels like a death that's stretched on for eternity now, Lucky magazine will officially end its print operations, according to WWD. With the departure of editor in chief/beloved social media maven Eva Chen, the reduction of the magazine's circulation from 10 to four issues a year, and long-circulating rumours about the magazine's imminent demise, the news of Lucky's final print passing is sad, yes, but not terribly surprising.

Rumours swirled as recently as this morning that the entire Lucky group—the print edition, the online site, and the e-commerce project—would shut down as the result of investors pulling out from the company. WWD confirms that one investor did indeed pull out, but there are still three in talks with the business to help keep the digital spaces up and operational.

Racked also reports that a number of the magazine's staffers were laid off over the weekend. The future of Lucky digital is uncertain, to say the least, and we'll keep you posted on any new developments.
