The 9 Pieces That Are Taking Over London Right Now

There are certain items (often from Zara) that I see women wearing almost every day on my commute. There have even been Instagram accounts set up in order to showcase these cult pieces, such as that blue-and-white Zara coat. I did some thorough research to discover the most-spotted items this month (i.e., I asked the Who What Wear UK office and put the question into all my WhatsApp groups) to see which pieces were the most popular in London. It quickly became clear that there are some high-street hits you're bound to see in any London office or underground station. In fact, you might already own some of them.

This summer's trending items are divided into two camps: the loud and the classic. I keep seeing crowd-pleasing items like beige denim, tonal blazers, Veja trainers and button-front dresses on my daily commute. However as ever Londoners are also embracing more adventurous looks, such as tie dye T-shirts and chunky velcro sandals.

Keep scrolling to see the nine items we're seeing all over London this month.

1. Velcro Sandals

When it comes to sandal trends, practical velcro sandals are leading the way— whether you opt for the Prada version or the £50 Teva Mid-Form Universal sandals.

2. Button-Front Dresses

Button-front dresses are universally flattering, and have become the unofficial uniform for Londoners in the summer.

3. Pearl Jewellery

Pearl jewellery is a real success story of 2019, and perhaps the trend that I see the most when I'm out and about around London.

4. Pink

When it comes to colours it's all about pink— and the brightest pink you can possibly find. These Barbie hues look amazing paired with classic denim washes.

5. Beige Blazers

The one outfit I see the most this month, is jeans paired with a white T-Shirt and a beige blazer.

6. Pretty Statement Tops

When it comes to easy, but impactful, outfits, this year sees the return of jeans and a nice top. A beautiful floral blouse or puffy-sleeved top requires little-to-no effort when it comes to styling.

7. Beige Jeans

As for denim trends taking off in London, it's all about off white and beige jeans. Three people in our office own this ASOS pair.

8. Veja Trainers

Veja trainers have been popular for quite some time now, but we can't stop seeing them more than ever. At every corner coffee shop, in every weekend hot spot, they're the London girl's go-to kicks.

9. Tie Dye

Tie dye is one of those trends that we didn't think would take off, but I see these nostalgic tees almost every day on my commute this month.
