Bars, cars, and AirPods across the country have been filled with so many melodies from pop sensation Lizzo. The Detroit-born artist took center stage in the cultural zeitgeist in 2019 because of her incredibly catchy songs like "Truth Hurts.” There’s no denying this woman has some bops—she’d racked up a whopping eight Grammy nominations after all—but her artistry and flute skills aren’t the only reasons she has become a sensation. In truth, Lizzo is the walking embodiment of self-love; whether it’s a lyric she’s spitting or a red carpet she’s slaying, she’s reminded us all that we’re all 100% that bitch. So in honor of us all feelin’ good as hell, we’ve rounded up her 17 best looks of all time (along with shopped them out, in case you’re feeling good too).

WHAT: 2019 30th Annual GLAAD Media Awards

WEAR: Christopher John Rodgers

Leave it to Lizzo to be the only person to pull up to the 30th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in a full-length lime neon look from CDFA 2019 winner Christopher John Rogers. We don’t even need to tell her she pulls this look off with ease, cause she knows she is cute.

WHAT: Busy Tonight

WEAR: Off-The-Shoulder Top, Oversized Hoop Earrings; Juice Box

Honestly, if you missed Lizzo’s appearance on Busy Tonight in 2019, you need to queue up your YouTube feed—if you still want to skip it, then at least appreciate this simple off-the-shoulder sweater look. But what makes this look is Lizzo’s juice box accessory—she’s got the juice, literally. And while everyone else is here for craft-inspired accessories at the moment, I’m more interested in snacks becoming accessories.

WHAT: 2019 Met Gala

WEAR: Custom Marc Jacobs Gown

There were two moments that really solidified my love for Lizzo; the first being when she showed up to the 2019 Met Gala in this feather-embellished custom Marc Jacobs dress. And the second being when she casually sauntered through the airport in the look—basically, she is the style icon we don’t deserve.

WHAT: 2019 Bet Awards

WEAR: Corset Bodysuit; Fishnet Tights; Jewelry

Lizzo has blessed us with incredible performances —but her performance for the 2019 BET Awards in June blew us all away. She appeared on stage on top of a wedding cake wearing a stunning embellished bodysuit, and at one she point busted out in solo flute performance. But if you’re still not convinced of this moment, just think about the fact that even Rihanna stood for applause—if that’s not iconic, I don’t know what is.

WHAT: "Tempo” music video

WEAR: Cowboy Hat and Boots; Lingerie Set; Fur Coat

From Solange to Lil Nas X, we’ve seen a resurgence and reclaiming of cowboy-inspired looks from African American artists this past year—and Lizzo joined that yeehaw agenda bandwagon. Wearing cowgirl-inspired lingerie set for her music video with Missy Elliot for the song "Tempo,” Lizzo was far from apologetic in this look. Her risqué outfit is a challenge to the traditional beauty standards—like the song itself, her look reminds us that beauty isn’t limited to a few sizes, and that thick thighs do indeed save lives.

WHAT: 2019 MTV Video Music Awards

WEAR: Moschino Gown

Lizzo is never one to shy away from pulling out stunning looks—a case in point is her 2019 MTV Video Music Awards outfit. Ready for fresh photos with bomb lighting, she arrived at the red carpet in a showstopping custom full-length red sequin Moschino dress and boa, making it possibly one of the best looks of all time to grace this carpet.

WHAT: 2019 MTV Video Music Awards

WEAR: '80s inspired dress.

As if Lizzo’s first 2019 MTV Video Music Awards red carpet look didn’t give me enough life—she was out here making news when this image of her and Lil Nas X at the award ceremony surfaced. I’ll admit I might have screamed (and still do) when I saw these artists hanging out, but beyond that, I lost it over her ’80s-inspired purple prom dress. Whoever said poofy sleeves were a no never saw Lizzo in them.

WHAT: 2019 MTV Video Music Awards.

WEAR: Bodysuit; Sneakers; Bedazzled Flask.

Ok, I may sound like a broken record here—but Lizzo did not come to play when it came to her looks for the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards. While she was snubbed for the best new artist of the year award, the internet lost it over her onstage performance. And while I was obsessed with her performance just as much as any other fan, I can’t lie that bedazzled Patron bottle stole my attention. Maybe it was an homage to when Rihanna had her bedazzled flask at the 2017 Grammy Awards? But either way, I’ll say it again: I am here for drinks as accessories, especially when they come in shiny containers.

WHAT: 2019 MTV Video Music Awards Afterparty

WEAR: Eighties-inspired dress with matching gloves; scrunchie; sunglasses.

As we all know though, the best award show looks are the after-party looks. And Lizzo’s look for Missy Elliot’s MTV Video Music Awards party was indeed a look. Keeping to her ’80s over-the-top theme for the night, Lizzo paired her signature scrunchie with a fun printed dress and matching gloves. This style moment is one for the books, but seeing two artists who have redefined both the music and beauty support each other is stylish in and of itself.

WHAT: 2019 American Music Awards

WEAR: Valentino

If you’ve gotten this far, it’s pretty clear by now that Lizzo isn’t one to shy away from making a statement on the red carpet—and her look for the American Music Awards is no different. Flaunting her figure, the artist showed up in a bright orange Valentino dress. The dress is indeed amazing, but the real detail we should all care about is the mini Valentino bag she carried. What exactly can it fit? Probably the lack of apologies she has for doing her own thing.

WHAT: 2019 American Music Awards

WEAR: Dominique Galbraith Gown

Lizzo didn't leave a crumb on the table when she served a look onstage for her American Music Awards performance in 2019. Everyone was equally blown away by her soulful performance as they were by the stunning purple couture gown she wore from Dominique Galbraith.

WHAT: 62nd Annual Grammy Awards

WEAR: Atelier Versace

If Lizzo’s outfits in 2019 didn’t fully convince you she’s a style icon, then allow us to remind you of her 2020 Grammy Awards red carpet look. Not only did the musical garner eight nominations and take home the best pop solo performance award that evening making her forever a part of the zeitgeist. But her stunning Old Hollywood–inspired Atelier Versace gown cemented her status as an icon.

WHAT: 2020 Billboard Music Awards

WEAR: Custom Christian Siriano

You have to love Lizzo’s style because she’s always making a statement—both figuratively and literally. Case in point: her ensemble for the 2020 Billboard Music Awards. Donning a custom-made Christian Siriano "vote” dress, the artist used her attendance at the event and her acceptance speech to talk about the importance of voting in the elections at that time. And frankly, there's nothing more stylish in our eyes than using fashion to speak up about what matters most.

WHAT: 63rd Annual Grammy Awards

WEAR: Versace Gown; Bulgari Jewelry; Stuart Weitzman Shoes

Not that I have to repeat myself, but time and time again, Lizzo’s red carpet style never fails us—just look to her 2021 Grammy Awards look to prove the fact. Donning a mint-green, almost mermaid-like Versace gown and dripping in diamonds, she showed us that she looks better in color and that these other starlets don’t hold a candle to her.

WHAT: Street style spotting, 2021

WEAR: Viktor&Rolf Fall 2021 Couture Collection

You thought this was just a round-up or Lizzo’s red carpet and on-stage ensembles? Think again. This musician has cemented herself as style royalty—a well-earned title when you decide to don a look like this on a casual night out in New York City. Not many stars can pull off wearing a couture fur coat paired with pumps and berry lipstick, but then again, most stars aren't at Lizzo's level.

WHAT: Saturday Night Live, 2022

WEAR: Versace; Mach & Mach Heels

The past few years have shaped up to be some of the most pivotal moments in Lizzo’s career, but this ensemble clarifies that she’s just getting started. Not only did she host her first-ever Saturday Night Live, but she performed her newest single, "special,” in this fabulous pink dress with the viral Mach & Mach bow heels. If this is just a sneak peek of the looks to come in the future, we have so much to look forward to from this star indeed.

WHAT: Coachella 2022

WEAR: Gucci Hair Clips; Stinson Haus Top; Yitty Bra; Breabstar Pants.

Last, but certainly not least we can’t round up Lizzo’s best looks of all time without mentioning her recent performance at Coachella. If it weren’t iconic enough that she performed with Harry Styles, then this all-pink performance number did it in.

Last, but certainly not least, we can’t round up Lizzo’s best looks of all time without mentioning her recent performance at Coachella. If it weren’t iconic enough that she performed with Harry Styles, then this all-pink performance number did it in.

From her many performances to all the times she walked the red carpet, to the launch of her size-inclusive shapewear line, Lizzo has solidified that she’s the one style icon worth watching and, like chardonnay, she only gets better with time.
