I’m a hopeless romantic at heart. I could watch Sleepless in Seattle on repeat any night of the week (and still cry every time I see Jonah waiting at the top of the Empire State Building). And I’m obsessed with Victorian romantic literature—I’ve read Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice over every holiday season since high school. So it’s inevitable that my romantic sensibilities have crossed over into my style. For me, this means a closet full of luxurious and sensuous fabrics and silhouettes. Let’s be honest: There is nothing more charming than lingerie-inspired pieces worn in and outside of the bedroom. Think silky slip dresses, lace camisoles, and satin kimono robes.

Luckily, designers such as Stella McCartney and Bottega Veneta have brought sleepwear-inspired styles into the limelight this summer and fall with sweet offerings of lace and silk dresses, tops, and slips in the prettiest pastel hues. And the look is easier to pull off than you think. To start, try a lace camisole worn with jeans or a silk petticoat skirt paired with a classic white tee and block heels. Sensual yet sophisticated.
