11 Reasons Jennifer Lopez Always Looks Amazing in Photos

Bold (but true) statement: Jennifer Lopez never takes a bad photo. Granted, she's been famous for over 20 years and thus has had plenty of practice, but her photo-taking skills are quite impressive nonetheless. She doesn't just put her photogenic tricks to use on the red carpet—there are plenty of Instagram selfies and paparazzi photos that show she clearly knows what she's doing.

Given that we cover J.Lo's looks quite a lot (you guys love her), we look at dozens of photos of her on a weekly basis. As a result, we're up on the photogenic tricks she's kept in her back pocket for years. And just as we did for Blake Lively, Kendall Jenner, Meghan Markle, and Gigi Hadid, we're sharing our findings with you so that you, too, can look ridiculously amazing in selfies, weddings, photo booths, and action shots.

Keep scrolling to see the 11 photogenic tricks Lopez has mastered and shop pieces she's constantly photographed in.

Trick #1: Keep your chin down when being photographed straight on.

If a camera is above you, there's a little more freedom, but if it's straight ahead, do as J.Lo does and keep your chin down for the most flattering angle.

Trick #2: Occupy your hands.

Lopez knows that the easiest way to look natural in a photo is to do something with your hands, like put them in your pockets.

Trick #3: Find the angles that make your outfit look best.

We have a hunch that J.Lo takes the time to study everything she wears in the mirror when she's going to be photographed. Every outfit looks better at different angles.

Trick #4: Don't hide your limbs.

Photographs with hidden limbs can look a bit awkward and disproportioned. Lopez always makes an effort to keep hers in view (which perhaps may have something to do with all that bling she wears on her fingers).

Trick #5: Glance at the camera during action shots.

Action shots are often the best shots. Take advantage of them by turning your face toward the camera.

Trick #6: Show off the features of your outfit and shoes.

If your skirt has a slit and your boots are amazing, by all means, show them off. This is just an example, but it applies to any outfit with a cool, Instagrammable feature.

Trick #7: Pose with confidence.

If you're going to put your hand on your hip (or any other common pose), do so with confidence. Popular poses became popular because they're flattering, but if you look uncomfortable, the pose won't make for a great photo.

Trick #8: Show your personality.

Trick #9: Mix up your selfie style.

None of J.Lo's selfies are the same. They reflect what she's wearing, her beauty look, and presumably, how she's feeling.

This photo likely earned 2.5 million likes because it's, well, real. Resist the urge to only post selfies post-hair appointment or Glam Squad visit.

Trick #11: Lean on something.
