J.Lo Has Been Wearing These 5 Basics to the Airport Since 1997
We all know Jennifer Lopez can pull off a red carpet statement dress like it's no one's business, but she's also adept in the wardrobe basics department. She may be known for fearlessly experimenting with trends, but when it comes to her airport style, her vibe is much more pared-back, but no less chic, of course.
I pored over vintage J.Lo photos in order to spot themes in her airport outfits, and I came away with five basics she has worn on repeat over the years. Beginning with her '90s outfits, I noticed that she loves wearing neutrals while traveling—specifically, white jeans paired with cream tops and turtlenecks and coats in rich camel colors. Scroll down to see Jennifer Lopez's favorite airport basics spanning three decades and shop 2019 versions for yourself.
White Jeans
Photographed in the '90s, Jennifer Lopez was the epitome of travel-chic in a head-to-toe neutral outfit.
A gem from the early 2000s, this photo proves that Jennifer Lopez can nail minimal style.
Sweatpants
Everyone's go-to comfort item, sweatpants don't have to look shabby at the airport. Just emulate J.Lo and wear soft pastel colors from head to toe.
Black Trousers
Jennifer Lopez proved that the trousers you might reserve for the office are actually a polished but still flowy, easy-to-wear option for traveling.
Skinny Jeans
All hail skinny jeans. Is there anywhere you can't wear them? Jennifer Lopez thinks not.
Turtleneck and a Coat
Take note: Camel always looks impeccable paired with leopard. This '90s airport outfit can easily be re-created today.
Over two decades later, Jennifer Lopez still loves a good turtleneck under a classic coat.

Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 12 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of senior news editor (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
