The Highest-Paid Actress of 2016 Is Also the Youngest on the List

Forbes just released its 2016 list of the highest-paid actresses, and for the second year in a row, Jennifer Lawrence tops the list with her pre-tax earnings of $46 million over the past 12 months. The actress—who was discovered as a teenager while sightseeing in NYC with her family—brought home $13 million more than the second highest-paid actress, Melissa McCarthy, who made $33 million. And at 26 years old, J.Law is the youngest actress on the list of top-earning ladies.

While her 2016 salary is down 11.5% from last year’s $52 million, the odds were most definitely still in her favor this year. The Kentucky native, who received the superlative title of “most talkative” in high school, is also the face of Dior and stars in the upcoming film Passengers, which scored her a huge payday of $20 million. In other words, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the hardworking 26-year-old top the list again next year. Congrats, J.Law!
