It's no secret we love the Middleton family. Yes, we cover plenty of the Duchess of Cambridge's outfits, but we also love her siblings, Pippa and James Middleton. The latter is making news right now because he just proposed to his French girlfriend, Alizee Thevenet, and we cannot wait for their wedding that's sure to be attended by a slew of royals. Do you remember the impossibly cute photos of Prince George and Princess Charlotte serving as a page boy and flower girl at Pippa's wedding? Fingers crossed we'll see a repeat for James's big day.

James shared the news with a cute Instagram selfie that revealed Thevenet's blindingly beautiful engagement ring. It features a silver band and a sapphire stone, which reminds us of his sister Kate's iconic sapphire ring that once belonged to Princess Diana. Scroll down to see the beautiful engagement ring and revisit James and Alizee's cutest couple moments. Plus, stay tuned as we learn more details about when and where their wedding will take place.

Next, the most expensive royal engagement rings, ranked by an expert

Erin Fitzpatrick
Senior News Editor

Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 12 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of senior news editor (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
