It seems like the one thing people are buying this month (and talking about buying and then Instagramming about buying) is sandals. I have already written what I can only describe as a dissertation on this year's sandals trends, however, there are two in particular that I keep seeing people in fashion circles wearing on my Instagram feed. In 2019, it's a tale of two sandals.
First up, we have the '90s strappy sandals—this is a trend that buyers have seriously backed, as Net-a-Porter revealed it had sold 11,000 pairs of the naked sandal. The other viral sandal trend is the polar opposite—chunky velcro practical sandals have been given the fashion stamp of approval by Prada. If anyone has the power to make us put velcro on our feet, it's Miuccia Prada.
Keep scrolling to see—and shop—the five sandals I have seen all over my Instagram feed this week.
1. Prada Velcro Sandals
These Prada velcro strappy sandals are arguably the most Instagrammed shoe of 2019.
2. By Far Sandals
Every style of By Far sandal is a regular feature on my Instagram feed, but these strappy mules Sabina is wearing are close to perfect.
3. Zara Sandals
I have lost count of the number of times I've seen these white Zara sandals—in real life and on Instagram.
4. Flattered Sandals
Jessie Bush created these sandals with Flattered, and they come in white, neon yellow and black.
5. ASOS Sandals
Chunky sandals with a thick sole are one of the key trends this year, and Ada found hers at ASOS for $23.
