The Easy Hack to Stop Your Shoes From Squeaking

Kat Collings

We’ve addressed the number one reader complaint about shoes: how to make them more comfortable. So now we’re moving on to the slightly more innocuous, but no less annoying, issue of squeaking footwear. The irksome noise is caused by sections of the shoe rubbing against each other. To fix the issue, simply lift the inner sole of the shoe and sprinkle baby powder underneath (if the sole is not removable, sprinkle the powder at the edges of the inner sole). The baby powder makes the seams of the shoe slightly more slippery, so they can rub against each other more smoothly sans any sound.

Now that you know you’ll never suffer from squeaking shoes again, why not treat yourself to a new pair? Scroll down to shop our picks!
