Hocus Pocus Is Officially Getting a Sequel—Will Sarah Jessica Parker Return?
We've recently learned about a Friends reunion, a Lizzie McGuire reboot, and a Gossip Girl revival, but that wasn't enough for Hollywood. Hold on to your witch hats, because the next cult classic to come back from the dead is none other than Hocus Pocus. Variety reports that a sequel is officially in the works at Disney+ and will be directed by Adam Shankman, who also helmed Hairspray and A Walk to Remember, among other films.
Although the original Sanderson sisters—Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler, and Kathy Najimy—haven't been confirmed to return quite yet, they've all stated in past interviews that they'd be on board, so we're definitely crossing our fingers. "I would love that," SJP had said about a sequel in 2016. "I think we've all been fairly vocal about being very keen but that hasn't created any groundswell of movement." According to People, Midler agreed with that sentiment in a past interview. "I have canvassed the girls and they are willing to do it, but we have no say in it," she had said.
Of course, the reboot news leaves plenty of lingering questions. Are Max and Alison still together? Is Thackery Binx still a babe? What will happen on All Hallow's Eve this time? Only time will tell.

Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 12 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of senior news editor (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
