7 Fall Beauty Products I'm Buying to Get That Cool French-Girl Look

As we all know, French-girl style, as it's commonly referred to, has long been highly covetable and that's likely to always be the case. The reason behind this is that their underlying aesthetic is classic and accessible. While there is certainly plenty of individuality among French women, I often spot similar beauty products being used as I'm scrolling through my Instagram feed.

I don't know about you, but I have all things fall on the brain lately, beauty products included. While I gravitate toward a pretty natural beauty look—which you'll see plenty of below—I must say that I'm very tempted to add a flick of liquid eyeliner or a bold lip color to my rotation after doing the research for this story. Below, you'll find seven beauty product categories that I'm sure you'll find in many a French girl's medicine cabinet (and that I'm inspired to add to mine now too).

Nude Lip Products

With mask-wearing being the norm, now more than ever I'm compelled to buy low-key nude lip colors. "Your lips but better" is a saying that's never lost on me. It's safe to say that every French woman has a nude lip color or two in their kit.

Rosy Powder Blush

Soft-matte rosy cheeks are lovely for any occasion—from working from home to picnics and so on. I'm a big blush person, so I'm very much inspired to trade my dewy cream ones for a rosy powder this fall.

Winged Eyeliner

As much as I hate applying eyeliner, there's no denying the Brigitte Bardot–esque appeal of a little winged eyeliner. While liquid eyeliner may be a more advanced makeup technique, at least you won't need to apply a ton of products otherwise. It's highly effective when you let it take center stage.

Dewy Highlighter

While I plan on giving dewy blush a rest for the time being come fall, dewy highlighter is something I'm stocking up on. With days getting shorter and the cloudy weather that's sure to abound in the fall, I need all the help I can get.

Texture Spray

Perfectly imperfect is the French-girl way, and that goes for hair too. I love the messy look but I wash my hair often, so I'll be relying on a little texturizing spray to help me fake it.

Bold Lip Color

As you've probably noticed, French girls know how to wear a bold lip. It's especially beneficial to have on hand when you want to look pulled together without really trying.

Colorful Eye Shadow

I usually shy away from anything but neutral eye shadow colors, but the number of cool French-girl selfies featuring bold, matte shadow I've seen lately is very persuasive.
