How the Fashion World Is Paying Tribute to Franca Sozzani
Editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia Franca Sozzani has passed away overnight at age 66, following a year-long illness. Sozzani sat in the editor’s chair for 28 years, and is widely credited for pushing boundaries through her powerful imagery, and supporting conversations about age, race, and body image in her work.
Sozzani was recently honoured as the recipient of the Swarovski Award for Positive Change at the BFC's Fashion Awards, and will be remembered for her continuous support of young designers. Two years ago, Sozzani visited Australia to sit on the judging panel for The Woolmark Prize, and was announced as an international ambassador for the Australian Fashion Chamber.
