What, exactly, are the must-buy pieces you’ll spot in fashion girls’ summer wardrobes this season? As an editor with a constant eye on the latest outfits among the fashion set and new arrivals at retailers, I have some predictions. While summer hasn’t arrived yet, there are already some key trends that have emerged on the fashion scene that are set to be big for the season ahead.
For starters, there is a shoe trend that is about to take over. We’re seeing a version of the popular strappy heels in a flat-sandal silhouette that is more practical for vacation wardrobes than its taller counterparts. Other essential accessories like large sunglasses and silk headbands are replacing last year’s trends like tiny sunglasses and bucket hats. Suiting is the trend that has taken over the fashion world, and for summer, insiders will be wearing skirt and short suit versions.
