Getty ImagesFashion month has officially come to a close, and what a whirlwind it was. Weeks and weeks of trend-spotting is a fun and tedious task that we take seriously here at Who What Wear. Don't believe me? Just take a look at the extensive coverage we've compiled from our front-row view of the festivities.
Now that we've been able to fully examine the entire lot of incredible beauty looks designers showed alongside their F/W 20 collections in New York, London, Milan, and Paris, we can say without hesitation that the hair and makeup trends revving up for fall are serious game changers. We're talking bold lips, chic hair accessories, and so much vibrant hair color we can nearly taste it. The no-makeup look is nice and all, but we think it's safe to say that the maximalist approach to beauty is about to come back in a major way. We can't wait.
Ahead, check out the seven most exciting trends we saw over and over again on the F/W 20 runways, and fill your fall mood boards with all the inspiration you'll need for your most banging beauty looks ever.
Fiery Lips
From blue undertones to orange-tinged hues, red lips were all over the F/W 20 runways. This classic beauty look is nothing new, but we're always thrilled to see it pop up in new ways—and in droves. From the relaxed, unlined lips at Carolina Herrera to the precise pop at Jason Wu and every bold lip in between, it looks like every iteration of a red lip will be a go-to look come fall.

Paint-Box Hair
Subtle hair-coloring methods like ombré and balayage have had their time in the sun for the last few years, but according to the runways, we could soon see a resurgence of more obvious streaks. And not just that, but the color itself has taken a decidedly bright tone. Primary pops of color, neon roots, and even glossy streaks all showed up and showed out.

Reimagined Headbands
Just when we thought we knew our way around a headband, the designers at the F/W 20 shows showed us what's new and next with the classic hair accessory. From oversize, helmet-like ones to quilted bands worn backward, we're looking forward to trying out hand at the new wave of headband styling.

New Wave Cleopatra
We're not new to liquid eyeliner. We've seen many trends take off recently, from colorful lines to chic, geometric shapes drawn on the lids, but this time around we're seeing a modern take on the exaggerated Cleopatra-style liner, whether it be a thick line covering the entire circumference of the eye, or bold drama focused on the inner or outer corners. This maximalist trend offers even more proof that makeup might be migrating back to a place of more.

Crystal Eye Candy
Sequins, gemstones, and studs, oh my! This fashion month taught us that bedazzled eye makeup is on the rise. This one is pretty out there in terms of wearability, but that doesn't mean you won't soon see eye jewel IRL.

Oil-Slick Hair
Sleek hair is an instant ensemble elevator, and the designers at the F/W 20 shows seem to agree. Slicked roots with free-flowing length was an interesting take we saw more than once, as were super-tight ponytails tied both high and low. While the wet look might be better suited for an evening out, pristine ponytails can be an anytime, anyplace type of vibe.

High-Voltage Eye Shadow
Why pick just one eye shadow color, when you can pick two… or three or four? Colorful cut-creases, rainbow panda patterns, and artfully executed ombré eyes all caught our attention.
