Despite the fact that most of our editors are based in New York or L.A., we spent a lot of time writing about French, British, and Scandinavian fashion. When our photo editor shares the street style images from London, Paris, and Copenhagen Fashion Weeks, I'm quick to save a plethora of images to my Pinterest boards. While we've covered the fashion set plenty, I thought I would round up the standout French, Scandinavian, and British brands everyone "in the know" is wearing to help those looking to add new brands to their radar.

The list of brands includes quintessential Parisian brands like Sézane and Rouje to more minimalist and refined labels like By Malene Birger and Me+Em. If you want to be in the know, keep scrolling. The European brands below are not ones you want to miss out on.

Sézane

Determinedly unique and très French is how Sézane describes its brand. (It's undoubtedly my go-to for effortless everyday pieces.) Whether I'm looking for a pretty blouse to pair with my jeans for work or a staple tee for the weekend‚ there's always something with unique detailing.

Rouje

Created by French influencer Jeanne Damas—who is known for her effortlessly chic Parisian style—Rouje is a go-to destination if you're looking for flattering dresses, blouses, and cardigans that exude a vintage charm.

Musier Paris

The chic Parisian label founded by influencer Anne-Laure Mais exudes that effortlessly cool French style seemingly everyone wants to emulate. I particularly love its selection of sleek pencil skirts and the more ultra-feminine and delicate pieces.

By Malene Birger

Rooted in minimalism, By Malene Birger creates luxurious pieces that are both refined and effortless. Everyone may already have Toteme on their radar, but this Danish brand is bound to hit the same level of cult status anytime soon. Hero pieces include beautiful knitwear, which ranges from lightweight ribbed sweaters to chunky bouclé sweaters.

Rotate Birger Christensen

If you're into the '80s revival that's crept up into parts of the fashion scene, Rotate Birger Christensen is the brand for you. Founded by Danish influencers Thora Valdimars and Jeanette Friis Madsen, the duo designs pieces with loud prints, punchy colors, and textured fabrics galore.

Baum Und Pferdgarten

When I think of Danish style, I immediately think of the eclectic and punchy pieces offered by Baum Und Pferdgarten. The hero pieces include printed knitwear and statement leather jackets, but you can also expect no shortage of punchy colors in every design.

Wales Bonner

Wale Bonner's collaboration with Adidas sells out faster than lightning, but the London-based label's sporty and androgynous silhouettes are also a fashion favorite right now. Aside from sneakers, you'll find smart tailored pieces that are fused with casual and low-key elements, inspired by founder Grace Wales Bonner's time solely designing menswear.

Me+Em

It's almost impossible to scroll through Instagram without spotting an influencer wearing Me+Em. The contemporary brand offers both classic pieces as well as more trend-forward items. You can find everything from a crisp button-down shirt to a pair of bright fuchsia pants.

Nensi Dojaka

Nensi Dojaka's runway shows are always a highlight of London Fashion Week, as the eveningwear label combines striking cut-outs and lingerie-inspired silhouettes to create bold and feminine pieces.

Associate Fashion Editor
Yusra Siddiqui is an editor who resides in New Jersey but bounces between the suburbs and NYC. (She's a Jersey girl at heart.) After interning at Who What Wear in 2019, she found her way to the team after graduating from LIM College in 2022 with a fashion media degree. She's also spent time writing and working for publications such as Fashionista, Coveteur, and Nylon, but she always knew that Who What Wear was where she was meant to be. When she's on the job, she's perusing runway shows, analyzing the latest thing fellow Gen Zers are up to on the internet, and sharing what she can about the modest-fashion market. You can also catch her dabbling in entertainment, talking about the costume choices of the latest Netflix series or diving deeper into how the plotline affects the viewers in a myriad of ways. Lastly, she likes to create content for Who What Wear's TikTok. Her personal time is spent doing similar but also different things—deep diving into almost every new TV show (Bridgerton, Gilmore Girls, and Stranger Things are favorites), planning her next local getaway (whenever that may be), and reading the latest Emily Henry or Sally Rooney novel in one sitting.
