I hope that by now we've educated you to no end about the biggest fall trends, which ones to invest in, and which to go for the budget buy. But if you wanted a little refresher on styles that are currently in view, here's my short list of what I'm seeing everywhere: animal print of all kinds, bright neon shades (especially neon green), anything '80s-inspired, and shades of beige and brown.

Now that you're all caught up on the best fall trends according to me, I'm going to show you exactly how I've been styling them this month. It's only natural to pick and choose the trends that are suited to your personal style—that's why it's called personal style, after all. To make the season's current styles fit into my into my outfit rotations, I narrowed in on three larger trends that are afoot—leopard print, bright colors, and new seasonal wardrobe basics. I took incorporated a few key pieces from each of these fall trends into my edgy style to really make them my own.

I say "edgy" because I'm always styling soft and tough pieces alongside each other. If you're wondering which fall trends are ultimately approved by this fashion editor, simply keep reading to discover how I'm wearing them, and then shop the pieces in my current rotation.

The Trend: Wild Card

You'd have to be living under a rock not to notice that animal print of all kinds—zebra, snakeskin, even cow print—are completely going viral. I've never been a huge fan of wearing prints, but I've leaned into wearing leopard print this fall, styling it with neutral tones to let the print really pop.

I wore this jumpsuit all throughout the summer, so I jumped at the opportunity to wear it layered over long sleeves for fall.

I say my style is "edgy" because I'm always mixing softer and tougher pieces together for an interesting balance of styles. To give this leopard-print maxi dress—a little sweeter than what I'd normally go for—that necessary edge, I added a black hoodie.

For dinner and drinks, I went for a sleeker approach and wore a leopard miniskirt with my go-to ankle boots and a knit tank top.

The Trend: Saturation Point

With the neon trend still going strong well into this season coupled with the revival of all the '80s-inspired jewel tones, I was itching to try my hand at the season's brightest colors. True to form, I grounded each colorful item with a neutral wardrobe staple, so it still felt true like me.

"Fuschia" and "edgy" are hardly two words you'd put in the same sentence, so something tougher like these cargo pants was in order.

This cream-colored slip dress proved to be the perfect backdrop to my blindingly bright little neon bag.

In my opinion, there's nothing a crisp button-down shirt can't ground. Case in point: a colorful tie-dye turtleneck that I layered underneath for a playful twist on professional separates.

The Trend: Getting Grounded

For every "out-there" trend at the moment, rest assured that there's an equally easy-to-wear one with your name on it. Those quintessentially "fall" items like corduroy and cardigans might just be the respite you needed—at least they were for me.

The leather trimming on this corduroy jacket won me over.

Cardigans have a reputation for feeling overly tired, but I opted for a cropped fit and styled it with of-the-moment pieces like a croc-effect handbag and relaxed-fit jeans.
