Dior's New Campaign is Packed with Girl Power, Gorgeous
Since Maria Grazia Chiuri took the reigns at Dior, the first female creative director for the brand has made it clear that girl power is a driving force for her vision of the future. Women are both strong and beautiful, edgy and elegant—in short, there’s no one way to define her muse, and likewise, her collection. So it’s only appropriate that for Chiuri's first campaign with her Spring 2017 collection, this same message was front and center.
Featuring models and twins, Ruth and May Bell, the images place the sisters side by side in clothes straight from the runway, including the delicate and fairy tale-like tulle dresses, fencing-inspired gear, and graphic tees reading DIO(R)ELOVUTION. And while the collection itself captures the many ways in which femininity translates into fashion, the models make a statement, too. May in loose, wavy locks and Ruth in a buzzed and spiky ‘do complement each other, visually. But more importantly, they also make a powerful statement about how women define their femininity in their own terms.
