From June through September, I plan to spend as many weekends as humanly possible relaxing by a pool, a beach, or both. And as summer “officially” starts on June 21, I have exactly two weeks to get my swimsuit collection into gear (i.e., upgrade my age-old black one-piece to something a little jazzier). To inspire my new-season swimsuit purchases, I’m turning to Instagram for this summer’s must-have swimwear trends—as seen on some of my favorite Insta influencers. From ruffles to belts and Crayola-bright hues, scroll below for the swimwear trends we can’t wait to wear in the warmer months ahead.

Ruffles

Whether bold and dramatic or sweet and minimal, ruffle detailing has been on the rise for the last few seasons and is set to be a huge hit this summer. Add one of these romantic and playful designs to your swimsuit inventory asap.

Polka Dots

Polka-dot prints have been all over the runways in the past year and are now coming to a swimsuit near you. Wear your spots small on a retro bikini or big and bold against a bright color. Either way, a polka-dot bikini will never go out of style.

Rainbow Stripes

Nothing says summer quite like colorful rainbow stripes. The stylish Insta set can’t seem to get enough of them this season—donning them on one-pieces and bikinis alike.

Belts

We’re huge fans of this growing trend here at Who What Wear. Channel your inner Bond girl and opt for a belted one-piece or a high-waisted bikini to cinch you in at the waist. Ultra-flattering and impeccably chic.

One-Shoulder Strap

The one-shoulder silhouette has been around for some time and quite frankly, has no signs of slowing down. Who cares about tan lines when they look this good?
