Celebs Have Totally Given Up on This Bag Trend

There was a time when every red carpet and evening look we witnessed celebrities wear featured the same few handbag trends. And while it's true that some celebrity trends will always be a thing (see strappy heeled sandals), other styles wax and wane depending on larger fashion trends afoot. Bags are definitely in the latter. Several seasons ago, we could count on Hollywood's most stylish to emerge with an oversize or boxy clutch in tow. While those evening clutches are far from extinct, there's a newer evening bag trend that celebrities have all been suddenly making a thing.

The newest party bags to be approved by celebs like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Bella Hadid, and Emma Roberts are much more festive. We're talking about cocktail bags covered in sequins, drawstring pouches in luxe velvet, and patent leather mini bags, among similar styles. As we head into the holiday season, it's only a matter of time until we see more and more celebs and style setters donning this new wave of going-out bags. In the meantime, scroll down to see how celebs are giving the bags their stamp of approval, and then shop our favorite versions.
