The 6 Boot Trends We'll Be Taking With Us Into 2022

Whatever opinion you may have on the colder weather, I love this time of the year simply because of how much wear I get out of my boots. Granted my collection has been expanded over the past year (I'm talking about chunky platform boots and cowboy boots), there are quite a few styles I think aren't going anywhere for 2022.

While some may want to opt for a set of entirely new trends for the new year, I think that if it's not broke, why fix it? I've rounded up six boot trends below that have been doing the fashion set good, so I vote for them to stay. (After chatting with some of our editors, they agreed.) January and February's temperatures tend to drop lower than December's, so if you don't own a good pair of boots yet, it's time to start looking. Luckily, along with trends, I've shopped out the best on the market for you to sift through and find your pick.

Keep scrolling to see the boots that we'll gladly be taking from this year into the next, along with outfit and shopping inspiration.

Platform Boots

As you head into 2022, reach for new heights. Platform boots have dominated this past year, and there's only room for more. Whether it's a thick flatform or a risky platform like above, why not be daring and give it a try?

'90s Sock Boots

Will the fashion set ever stop being inspired by '90s style? Probably not. While sock boots have repeatedly gone in and out of style, it's the fitted leather versions that I think have staying power.

Flat Boots

When I asked my fellow editors for their opinion on boots, our Editor in Chief Kat Collings let me know she thinks flat boots will continue on. She said they seemed like an antidote to chunky lug soles, and while those are still a vibe, these are more refined.

Western-Inspired

I've seen people say Western boots are a fleeting fad, and I have to disagree. They just instantly add an element of cool to any outfit. I've worn mine nonstop and will continue to do so.

Riding Boots

Riding boots are a wardrobe staple, but with more fun styles trending in the past year, it got easier to overlook the classics. It didn't take long for the fashion set to shift their focus back to this sleek silhouette, and it seems like they'll have a spotlight going into 2022.

Pointed Boots

Fellow editor Jasmine Fox-Suliaman is very passionate about her shoe game and let me know that she thinks everyone will be leaning into the trend that was on every '00s red carpet: pointed-heeled boots. According to her, it's the edge that former boot styles have been lacking.
