These Are the Best TV Shows Ever About Fashion
In the age of binge-watching, it's all too easy to blow through an entire season of a show in a single weekend. But if—like us—you generally choose what you watch based on the outfits a show's characters wear onscreen, there are a few standout series worth adding to your queue. So what's the best TV show about fashion?
Below, we rounded up seven iconic fashion-centered shows that fit the bill—and if you haven't watched your way through them already, this may be just the time. From scripted dramedies to the very best of reality television, these are the shows worth watching (and then rewatching a few more times).

1. The Hills
As an intern for Teen Vogue, Lauren Conrad suffered the trials and tribulations we all still remember. Whether it was choosing Paris or Jason, or schlepping from L.A. to New York just to hand off a dress, the show offered insight into the (debatably) real life of a girl on the rise in the fashion industry.
2. The Rachel Zoe Project
Celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe gave us a behind-the-scenes look at red carpets and epic photo shoots, in addition to offering up a glimpse at the general chaos that comes with being a celebrity stylist. While Zoe has gone on to create her own successful website, clothing line, and more, the TV show was America's introduction to her talents.
3. Project Runway
For those curious about the art of designing clothes, there's no show quite like Project Runway. Each week, a new challenge offers us a chance to watch contestants create iconic looks out of something as humble as trash bags (yes, that really happened).
4. Sex and the City
Many of us followed Carrie Bradshaw's dating tribulations and outfits with equal devotion as she struggled through life in NYC (always dressed in Manolos, of course). And thanks to the genius styling of Pat Fields, we still fondly reminisce about so many of the epic outfits we witnessed over the course of the show's run.
5. What Not to Wear
From 2003 to 2013 (what a run), What Not to Wear and its hosts—Stacy London and Clinton Kelly—tackled the tricky art of the makeover, helping women and men revamp their closets.
6. America's Next Top Model
If the words "Tyra Mail" elicit a certain feeling of nostalgia, you know you're a true fan of America's Next Top Model. The show has survived an impressive 23 seasons with plenty of memorable shoots (and eliminations) along the way.
7. Gossip Girl
Okay, so fashion may not be the central theme of Gossip Girl, but it's hard to think about the show without your mind immediately honing in on Blair Waldorf's iconic headbands and Chuck Bass's sharp suits. Those Upper East Siders know a thing or two about style.
