9 Cool Fashion Brands a Celeb Stylist Wants You to Know About Now

When he’s not working with big names like Rowan Blanchard, Barbie Ferreira, Camila Mendes, Hari Nef, and Debby Ryan, celebrity stylist Chris Horan shares his fashion expertise in our Ask a Stylist series. Return for a professional’s perspective on what to know in fashion.

Meet Chris Horan, a talented celebrity stylist who works with some of today’s coolest young celebs and has an eye for fashion that feels at once cool, editorial, and of the moment. Today, we’re kicking off our Ask a Stylist series with Horan, where he will be regularly weighing in with his expert take on all things fashion—including all things on and off the red carpet.

For the first installment of the series, I asked Horan to share his take on the coolest fashion labels to know about now. Given his knack for dressing his clients in rising brands on the red carpet and in the pages of magazines, I thought he'd have particularly good insight. Here, discover the nine cool fashion brands he regularly turns to for his clients that also deserve a place in your closet.

Miaou

Horan regularly turns to Miaou for clients, including Barbie Ferreira. He particularly loves their structured pieces like corset tops for their defined shapes.

16Arlington

Horan immediately mentioned 16Arlington, noting how fun its pieces are. He worked with the brand earlier this year when he was in a time crunch to dress Lena Dunham for the London premiere of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. "They came through in a major way and made a dress for us in 48 hours," he explained.

Peter Do

Another brand topping his list? Phoebe Philo alum Peter Do. "I think that Peter Do is a definite—I think he's one of the more talented people coming up right now," Horan says. With minimal details and reinvented suiting, his designs are the ultimate wardrobe staples for a modern dresser.

A British brand with a mastery in bold prints, Richard Quinn is another one topping Horan's must-know list. Even Queen Elizabeth II is a fan—you might remember when she attended his F/W 18 show seated next to Anna Wintour.

Staud

For fashion that hits at more attainable prices, Horan turns to Staud, but that's not the only reason. "It's kind of like a one-stop-shop because I think the accessories—like the shoes and the bag alone—are worth it," explains Horan.

Loren Stewart

Horan mentions that he's very into Loren Stewart jewelry—a brand with beautiful pieces that range from affordable finds to more expensive items designed with details like Keshi pearls.

Kim Shui

New York-based brand Kim Shui has a lengthy line of celebrity fans. It also caters to a number of body types, as Horan points out. "Its stuff is good because it can get bawdy and sexy," explains Horan, "but it also could be a little more sophisticated if you style it the right way."

Rixo

Horan gravitates toward the prints from UK-based brand Rixo—a brand that is also a constant favorite among Who What Wear editors.

Kara

When it comes to bags, Horan immediately mentions Kara, whose bike wallet is a must-buy item, according to him.
