The Boot Trend I Predict Everyone Will Actually Wear This Fall

Szymon Brzóska/ The Style StalkerAlthough much has been said about the return of party attire and "revenge" heels as 2021 is being hailed as the onset of the new "roaring twenties," I think it's safe to say that there's still an important place in our wardrobes these days for comfort and practicality. Don't get me wrong, I love a good over-the-top fashion moment as much as the next style person, but if you were to ask me what I predict people will actually be wearing out on the street and not just flaunting on their Instagram feeds, I'd have to say it's this fall shoe trend.
Call them boring all you want, but the grip that flat boots have on fashion right now is undeniable. All manner of flat boots from leather knee-highs to lace-up combat boots are having a moment right now. Thick, gummy soles AKA lug soles are an especially trendy feature of the season's coolest boots, but it's the overall lack of heels that I'd like to point out today. Oh, and not to mention, they're practical, too. Flat boots of all kinds had a notable presence on the fall/winter 2021 runways from Stella McCartney's elevated wellies to Ganni's contrasting green soles and were paired with everything from easygoing knit dresses to cool leather jackets, indicating their unmatched versatility.
Fresh off the heels of fashion month, it's already clear from the street style scene that flat boots are making an impact IRL, too. For further proof that they're the most wearable (and dare I say, best), scroll down to see the best runway and street style looks and then, of course, shop the best flat boots on the market, according to us.
