It's Official: This $13 Foundation Is the Absolute Best for Oily Skin

Unearthing the ride-or-die foundation of your dreams is like locating a needle in a haystack, finding the perfect pair of vintage Levi's while thrifting, or trying to decide which member of Queer Eye's Fab Five is your favorite. (Aka, it's near impossible.) Not only is there the whole shade-matching fiasco to contend with, but you also have to consider finish (dewy! matte! satin! luminous! demi-matte!), ingredients, price, formula, and the list goes on. Daunting, no? Especially if you find yourself in the middle of a worldwide pandemic and are unable to swatch, sample, and test out potential contenders IRL.

If you have oily skin, the predicament only intensifies. Not only are countless foundations unfeasible due to their dew- or glow-enhancing nature, but the foundations that are geared toward slick skin types often veer overly dehydrating or matte (neither of which is great when you're searching for a product that's supposed to enhance the look of your skin).

Believe it or not, some of our favorite foundations for oily skin can be found at the drugstore and for ridiculously endearing price points of $20 and under. To get you started, my fellow WWW beauty editor, Courtney Higgs, and I are sharing a few of our favorite formulas alongside some additional options that have won lots of acclaim within the beauty industry. Keep scrolling. We're listing 12 of the best drugstore foundations for oily skin just below.

Beauty Director

Erin has been writing a mix of beauty and wellness content for Who What Wear for over four years. Prior to that, she spent two and half years writing for Byrdie. She now calls Santa Monica home but grew up in Minnetonka, Minnesota, and studied writing, rhetoric, and communication at University of Wisconsin, La Crosse. She studied abroad in Galway, Ireland, and spent a summer in L.A. interning with the Byrdie and Who What Wear family. After graduating from UW, she spent one year in San Francisco, where she worked as a writer for Pottery Barn Kids and PBteen before moving down to L.A. to begin her career as a beauty editor. She considers her day-to-day beauty aesthetic very low-maintenance and relies on staples like clear brow serum (from Kimiko!), Lawless's Lip Plumping Mask in Cherry Vanilla, and an eyelash curler. For special occasions or days when she's taking more meetings or has an event, she'll wear anything and everything from Charlotte Tilbury (the foundations are game-changing), some shimmer on her lids (Stila and Róen do it best), and a few coats of the best mascara-type product on earth, Surratt's Noir Lash Tint.
