Meghan Markle might be one of the most-talked-about celebrities in the fashion space right now, what with her instantly iconic wedding last year and now a baby on the way. It's no surprise, then, that people would be curious what the ultimate fashion arbiter, Anna Wintour, thinks of the budding style star.

In the debut of Vogue's new video series called Go Ask Anna, Wintour answers questions from strangers on camera. When asked about the Duchess of Sussex, Wintour had a diplomatic answer: "I read somewhere that there were members of the royal household who were confused and upset that she woke up so early at 5 a.m. She's a normal California girl who gets up early and does yoga and meditates. And also [that she] sent a lot of text messages. What did they expect? She was going to send messages via pigeon? So I think she's amazing." So there you have it: Markle has Wintour's stamp of approval, so let's start crossing our fingers for a Vogue cover—perhaps with the royal baby in tow?

Erin Fitzpatrick
Senior News Editor

Erin got her start as a Who What Wear intern over 12 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of senior news editor (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
