Up-and-coming Australian label I.Am.Gia popped onto my radar last year. To be honest, it was pretty hard to not notice it. Celebs like Bella Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski, and Kaia Gerber (and many more) have all been snapped wearing pieces from the brand on repeat. But perhaps what is most noteworthy about I.Am.Gia are the prices—everything retails for under $300. Its teddy bear coats, pastel plaid crop tops, and boiler suits are all over Instagram, but it’s the brand’s pants that you’ll spot on every celeb. Especially its Cobain style—a roomy trouser strung with a chain detail—that’s a nod to ’90s grunge.
I couldn’t resist trying pieces from the brand for myself, so I ordered the Cobain pants in khaki as well as the high-waisted Mira pant in a black and white stripe—each priced at just $84. I’ll admit right away that I’m a huge fan, and throwing them on instantly made me feel like I was part of a cool style tribe. And they work so well with my wardrobe because they’re so versatile. Styled with a pair of combat boots, they can tap into the ’90s skater girl grunge thing that’s happening at the moment. But, on the other hand, add a sleek turtleneck and a pair of Chanel slingback heels and it’s an outfit that feels fashion-forward and cool but still office-appropriate. This is a label I’ll be wearing again and again.
