This Is How Everyone Is Carrying Their Bag Now, and We're Into It

If there’s one thing we can count on, it’s that fashion weeks are the perfect place to spot the next big trend before everyone else. Lately, one major trend we’ve seen circulating among some of the most fashionable bloggers and editors isn’t in what they’re wearing, but how they’re wearing it.

Christine Centenera, fashion director at Vogue Australia, posted an Instagram Story of herself wearing her handbag as a cross-body on her way to the Louis Vuitton show in Paris overnight. While this may seem like an odd choice at first, this way of wearing bags is undoubtedly catching on. Because of the shorter straps, when worn diagonally, the usual handbag looks much shorter, rising up higher on the body than they usually would. Not only does this seem practical, as cross-body bags free up both hands, but also has a unique look to it.

Since the trend is still fresh and unexpected, this shorter bag look comes across as somewhat edgy, no matter how classic the bag itself may be. If there’s one thing we love, it’s an unexpected twist—and this is the perfect way to change up something you may already own, just by altering the way in which you wear it.
