What the Buyers Are Buying: The Hero Pieces for This Season

If I wasn’t a fashion editor, I would’ve done everything I could to be a buyer. Fashion buyers work closely with designers, see all of the collections up-close and help dictate trends by deciding which are the right pieces from collections to land in store. This means that buyers see every single piece worth seeing.

We asked the fashion buyers at some of our favourite online Australian fashion destinations what their hero piece of the season is. Keep scrolling to shop their picks!

"This Raquel Allegra Shirred Long Sleeve Blouse ($438) is one of my favourites for the season. It can be worn to work with a tailored pant or paired back with denim for the weekend. It has an undone quality yet it's luxurious and versatile."

"The Ellery Tenacity Blazer ($1750) is the ultimate blazer you've been waiting for (and it’s coming in ivory too!). It has an interesting sleeve tie detail, a simple button fastening and is the perfect length to wear over dresses or with mom jeans and a crop tee. The best part? You can remove the sleeves and tie them onto an existing Ellery top and wear the blazer as a chic, timeless piece. The versatility and statement of it is utter perfection."

"To combat all those dark colours that inevitably creep back into our wardrobe once summer is over, this light oatmeal coloured C+M Camilla and Marc Pato Coat ($499) will lighten up the darkest of winter days. It’s my key pick for A/W 16. Despite the oversized fit, it still has clean and classic appeal. The muted oatmeal coloured woven fabrication will match back to endless shades of winter-whites, and all the neutral toned knitwear on offer. Jackets are one of my favourite things about winter and this coat is the perfect one to throw on and be on your way this season."
