Now, I love a good denim look as much as the next fashion lover, but midi skirts are my latest kick. I've recently tried to start swapping my jeans for the style, and trust me when I say it has made me feel 10 times more pulled together, particularly considering the style is much comfier. As I've started wearing this new bottom to the office and out with friends, some similar feedback has risen from the pack: I love midi skirts, but I never know what tops to wear with them!

Well, fortunately—and because I'd hate for anyone to lose out on the infinite wardrobe promise that they have to offer—I'm here to let you in on the tops I love to wear with midi skirts on a regular basis. Here, I'm diving into the three tops I love to wear with midi skirts, from tees to knits, and why I am fond of each specific option. So, the next time you find yourself reaching for the same jeans you wear every day, refer to this story for some midi skirt styling inspiration—your outfit (and your day) will thank you.

Cool T-Shirts

I love wearing a unique T-shirt with a midi—especially a floral skirt. There's something so striking about an elegant piece like a lengthier skirt with a laid-back, almost skater-style tee.

Thin-Knit Turtlenecks

Thin-knit turtlenecks are one of the most flattering tops to wear with midi skirts, in my opinion. This particular top style really allows your skirt to show off your waist, creating more of a streamlined silhouette. This style is also your best bet if your midi skirt has some volume to it, as it balances out the proportions of the look.

Crop Tops

Crop tops are the perfect weekend midi skirt counterpart, especially if you're trying to avoid the bulk that can come from tucking in a shirt. Instantly, you have a flattered waist, a no-fuss tucking situation, and an adorable outfit you'll never want to take off.

Hopefully we've convinced you to swap out your jeans for a skirt at least once this week. If we haven't, let us know and we'll attempt to present a more convincing case next round.
