It looks like tracksuits aren’t the only fashion staple of the 2000s having a comeback. Vogue reports that toe rings—which have cultural significance in India and became mainstream in the U.S. circa the ’70s—might be having a moment in 2016. Every ’90s kid can remember the blinged-out, tiny rings that were the trendiest accessory to pair with sandals. According to the fashion magazine, the toe ring is “the anklet’s second cousin” and can be as understated or bold as you want.

If you’re looking to try the trend yourself, we say minimal is an excellent way to go because you won’t have to worry about whether or not it can go with your shoes (think subtle thin silver or gold bands). Before summer’s end, it could be a good idea to give this throwback trend another try, because believe it or not, there are a plethora of styles out there to suit anyone’s style.
