The Street Style Trend That's Slowly Dying
Style du Monde
Fashion bloggers, influencers, and the like are snapped on the streets of New York more during fashion than at any other time of year, so it only makes sense that many choose to amp up their wardrobes for the occasion. To catch a photographer's attention, they may go the extra mile in prints, colours, and other statement looks to showcase their sartorial range. But if you're trekking from show to show hoping to get snapped and featured this season, it's worth noting that peacocking is not necessarily the look fashion photographers are hoping to capture anymore.
In an interview with Glamour, Style du Monde photographer Ariel explained, "I'm more interested in inspiring people with what to wear in their daily lives, so I shoot more streamlined outfits. I think peacocking is going down because now people want to see a real interpretation of current trends that they can apply to their daily life." Good to know!
Still, there's no denying there were plenty of statement-making moments we loved seeing this week. Perhaps budding street style hopefuls should focus on investing in standout accessories, or clothes with a subtle yet eye-catching silhouette and fabric.
