Love it or hate it, it's official, we care less for pain (stilettos) and more and more for comfort. In other words, we’re ready to add some fresh sandals into our spring wardrobe rotation. If the question of whether flats are appropriate for the office or formal events like weddings still stands, you’d be surprised by the styles we've found while trawling through some of our favourite shopping sites. Flat sandals have been the choice of footwear paired with everything from structured suiting to summery dresses. According to Christina Martini, designer of Ancient Greek Sandals, "we loved playing around with new textures this season. [Sandals] make for the perfect summer shoe when you have to dress up a little bit, such as a summer wedding.” If you’ve been secretly looking for every way possible to wear your sandals with everything, now's the time.

We’ve rounded up the seven trending styles we've spotted, from textures such as feminine velvet and tropical raffia, to tough hardware styles and the much-loved T-bar sandal. Need another reason to invest? When you’ve got great shoes, nothing else matters.
