How Rihanna's Thigh-High Boots Broke the Internet
When news broke of Rihanna’s collaboration with Manolo Blahnik, were you drooling over the denim-inspired designs as much as we were? Then came a glimpse of the collection’s “9 to 5” boots in RiRi’s spread for British Vogue—and another when she casually wore the pant-like thigh-highs with short shorts in NYC. Little did we know that the $5905 boots were about to break the internet, just like her Puma slides did last month.
May 5 marked the release of the limited-edition collection, and according to Racked, Manolo Blahnik’s site crashed within mere minutes of launching the line. The hype is just that real. One Racked staffer even documented her experience trying the boots IRL, and celebs are flocking too. J.Lo accessorised them with her all-white outfit in the “Ain’t Your Mama” music video after receiving the now famous boots a couple of weeks ago. But if you want to get your hands on the statement shoes—which come with a sketch signed by Rihanna and Manolo himself—you’d better act fast because only 400 pairs of these beauties were made.
